Unveiled by Pantech in April, and sadly available only in South Korea, the Vega Iron could be among the first smartphones to get the new Android 4.4 KitKat.
Pantech has confirmed on Twitter (in Korean) that the Iron would be updated to the latest version of Google’s mobile OS. It did not mention when customers should expect the update though.
Of course, other manufacturers – including Samsung, Sony, LG and HTC – are likely going to update some of their devices to KitKat shortly after this is released.
Google has officially announced the upcoming launch of Android 4.4 KitKat at the beginning of September. However, it didn’t say exactly when it will be available to download. It will happen in the next few months anyway, and the LG-made Nexus 5 is probably going to be the first device to run it out of the box.
