he South Korean giant seems to be prepping itself to bring flip phones back into the market. The latest buzz on this is from Japanese site Blog of Mobile – the site has published the specifications of a newly leaked Samsung smartphone, codenamed Hennessy, alongside a press image.
First things first, the Samsung Hennessy (model number – Samsung SCH-W789) is a flip phone with a display on both sides, both measuring 3.5 inches with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. Going by the leaked specifications, it is likely that this smartphone will be powered by a 1.2GHz processor, though there is no word on the chipset yet. It is also likely that the Samsung Hennessy smartphone will come with 1GB of RAM and a 5MP shooter at the back.

Blog of Mobile adds that the smartphone in question will run Android 4.1.2 and possibly move on to an updated OS later. Also, the Hennessy smartphone will feature a closed housing that would cover the numeric keypad behind the full touch phone, and would be used once the enclosure is opened.
Interestingly, the report suggests that the smartphone will only be available in Luxury Gold colour. At the moment, though, there is no mention of the price.

This feature-rich handset ran Android 2.3 with Samsung’s TouchWiz and was powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor with an MSM8660 chipset. It featured dual 3.5-inch Super AMOLED displays and was unveiled in partnership with China Telecom. Apart from supporting GSM networks, it supported 3G through CDMA as well.
