The biggest and latest hype in the wide and seamless world of computer software and operating systems is the much awaited and really classy just released Windows 8. All the old windows users had already pre-booked one. Even those, who hadn’t, are now buying it all up. So, when most of one’s work is suddenly in a format and a different type of Operating System than what one was used to, it is difficult to get used to something so different at such a short notice for both the user and also the machine.
The only option one is either to use both the operating software or to use one on some device until one is ready to use it full time. But the later option is seemingly difficult for people not owning a lot of gadgets and also for people who like to work with only one console.
So best option seems to be that the user downloads both the operating systems and work on both simultaneously. Thanks to technology, this is possible today with separated space and storage units for both the systems. Wubi is software that makes Ubuntu, the personal computer operating system from a Linux distribution. It distributes Ubuntu as free and open source software. Ubuntu uses its own desktop
environment.
How to Install Ubuntu on Windows 8?
Create a space for the new Ubuntu OS. Click on the Hyper-V management console on the start screen. Click on the actions pane on the right side and select virtual machine.
Give a name to your virtual machine. Decide how much space you want to divide between the two. For ideal performance don’t choose anything that leaves less than 1 GB for each real and virtual system.
Connect to a network. If you have set up some prior network connections, you could select one. Click on NEXT.
Now use the new VHDX type virtual hard disks that would be a part of your virtual system. This can be as big as 16 TB, so have you go.
Select the ISO file when you are at the final stage of installation. Then go ahead and choose your Ubuntu.ISO file.
Now click finish, patiently let all things work and then, after it is finished, go ahead and start your virtual machine with Ubuntu.
That’s it. Have a happy user experience.
