Sense 5 coming in HTC DROID

Verizon's website is spilling the beans about an update coming to the HTC DROID DNA that will bring Sense 5 to the phone. That means you can expect the new Smart Dialer to be on the DROID DNA. The Smart Dialer disables the call button until you start dialing. Press the full QWERTY button and look up contacts using letters. After the update, the Favorites tab will let you find your most important contacts quickly, and the improved calendar allows you to search Month, Week, Day, Agenda, and Invite views.

Yes Virginia, with Sense 5, BlinkFeed will be coming to your HTC DROID DNA. This feature will have you looking at streaming updates from your news, entertainment or social feeds. And the Gallery will have a new landing page. Group your photos under "events" and the pictures will be displayed by time and place when they were snapped. Tap on a particular event to see all of the pictures you shot during that occasion. And the gallery will also automatically create a 30 second video from clips and pictures of a particular event. The Quick Settings feature in Sense 5 allows you to switch back and forth between the regular notification panel and the Quick Settings screen, where you can toggle on and off certain settings like Airplane Mode, Wi-Fi and others.

We don't know which Android build will be paired with Sense 5.0, but HTC is supposedly trying to get Android 4.3 on the DROID DNA. We also have no inkling about when the update will be released, although the fact that it is on Big Red's website should mean that it is close to happening.  The device is still available from Verizon's website for $49.99 with a signed two-year pact.
