We’re now living in the era of Digital cameras with the electronic markets flooding with enormous number of digi-cams with latest technology. I’m sure you’re one of the many Digital camera users who take photography as a profession or a hobby. If you’re the one who uses the Digital camera at remote areas where there is no means of electricity for charging your battery, you might find this article useful as we’re talking about how to save and enhance battery life of your Digital camera.

Tips for Improving Digital Camera’s Battery Life
First of all, remember to buy genuine batteries with large capacity. Don’t go for grey market stuff as those batteries might damage your camera’s life.
Turning the cam on & off will have huge impact on the battery life. So, avoid doing so.
If your camera comes with “Auto power saving” mode, then turning it on when you’re not using it for a while will save you a lot of battery.
Flash is not required in all situations. Its better to keep Flash in Auto mode as the camera can itself decide when to use the Flash.
Battery life will become shorter if used in cold climates. So, always try to keep your digital camera warm as much as possible. Wrap it in a woolen cloth when (not) in use, to keep it warmer.
Most of us press the shutter button half-way down in case if we don’t intend to take a photo. Doing so will consume huge battery power as some internal processes will be executed when we pressed it half-way down.
Use the view finder instead of the LCD screen as it’ll give you the real view of the object that you’re clicking. It will also help you to bring down the battery consumption to a great extent.

Don’t try to erase the captured images directly from the camera dashboard. Connect it to a computer and then remove those unwanted pictures.
Keep your Digital camera in charging while transferring photos between the device and your computer as the download process will consume more battery power.
Although not all, a few Digital cameras are well-known to drain your battery even when the cam is turned-off. So, its better to remove and keep-aside the batteries when you’re not using it.
